WordPress Hosting Reviews (https://wphostingreviews.com), released their WP Engine Review. WP Engine is a WordPress specific hosting company. WordPress Hosting Reviews has been using WP Engine for over a year.
Steven Johnson, Senior Editor, covers the service from start to finish. First is the history of WP Engine and their company focus. He found them to be a relatively new company with a strong founding team and a clear direction.
Second, Steven talked about their experience of moving a blog to their service. He details the transition from a shared hosting plan to WP Engine as being easy and straightforward. He said, “A common fear for most people with a WordPress site is moving from an existing host. Having it moved by a WordPress expert eases the nerves of many potential customers”.
After hosting with WP Engine for several months they reported an increase in page load times and general site speed.
Lastly, Steven talked about the tech support. He said that many shared server companies do not have a team of true WordPress experts. On the other hand, WP Engine, deals only in WordPress. He said the knowledge level was much better than other hosting companies.
They did find WP Engine to be more expensive, have limited tech support hours and noticed that some plugins are not allowed on their platform.
According to the review, they had a positive move to WP Engine and have remained happy customers.
