GoDaddy Hosting Review
Hosting Features
GoDaddy is known for their commercials and domain registration, WordPress Hosting is not one of their better services.
They are a well established domain registrar but they do have some drawbacks:
- Site and control panel can be confusing
- Severs can be slow
Read more to see if Godaddy may be a good fit for you or why you may want to look to another host.
Godaddy was founded in 1997 by Bob Parsons. With over a decade into this business Godaddy is the number one domain registrar in the world.
Go daddy has its own services and equipment which enables them to keep their prices low as compared to other domains. Based out of Arizona, Godaddy has been widely recognized for its success and appears on INC 500 list of nation’s fastest growing companies.
Although relatively new to the hosting scene, GoDaddy provides excellent hosting solutions, and has even been praised for by many reviewers. They have accredited their success to “always appreciating and listening to [their] customers!”

This is very flexible in that it allows for both website administration and management of your whole GoDaddy account (including domain names and the Hosting Connection). Website files, databases, email addresses, script installations etc can be handled through the control panel.

Editor review
Being a web developer with lot of clients, I recommend GoDaddy for domain registration but not web site hosting. GoDaddy’s servers do not work well with database driven websites like WordPress or Joomla.
Tech Support
Tech support will always answer the phone and help you out where they can, but all to often we have called with a slow site problem and they were not able to help out.
Conclusion
If you are with Godaddy and you seem happy with them then it is probably best to stay with them. If you do not have a hosting company then I would select another host besides GoDaddy.

Their prices are competitive.
Reviewer Info
Their pricing was steep but I tried to convince myself they had some benefit. The control panels are undeniably cluttered and confusing to navigate. Their customer support will respond quickly but ultimately not helpful (they’ll just refer you to an article that is hardly related to your issue).
They officially support internet censorship (and then tried to cover it up, admitting days later that they are still in support). Search google for “Godaddy Sopa”
They think you’re stupid. Just watch the commercials. “Use godaddy to because (hot girl)”.
FInally moved my last domain away. Will never look back

But now, years later, they seem to have gotten greedy and are putting customer service last and their own selfish concerns first.
Recently when I wanted to cancel one domain I have with them, but had mislaid the passwords to the account, I called their customer support who told me to basically drop dead.
CS was incredibly rude and unhelpful and cheerfully told me that they were going to continue charging my CC forever and that neither they nor I could do anything about it.
I now have to cancel the credit card they are charging then renew it under another card number to escape their unauthorised charges.
I would NEVER recommend anyone to use this company unless they enjoy being taken advantage of, being abused by their staff, and paying for services you do not want and if you like being told to drop dead. I hope that this arrogant and greedy way of doing business and treating customers like dirt spells their ruin.
